Biography

Sara Klemme is a PhD student studying electrodeposition at electrochemical interfaces.

PhD Research

Started: October 2025

Office: 4.128, Institute of Physical Chemistry, University of Göttingen

Sara’s doctoral work focuses on the computational modeling of electrodeposition processes and XPS spectroscopy. She will develop and apply advanced embedding-based electronic structure methods, while simultaneously establishing simulation methodologies for EC-XPS. By combining atomistic modelling, environmental embedding approaches, and spectroscopic simulations, she aims to create a direct link between experiments and ab initio simulations, enabling unprecedented insight into electrochemical surface phenomena.

Educational Background

Sara completed her Masters at the University of Copenhagen, where her thesis focused on the calculation of NMR properties of fluorinated molecules, supervised by Professor Stephan P. A. Sauer.
